Spanish TV Actresses Fangirl Collision
The ladies from Tierra de Lobos were at the Festival de Malaga over the weekend. On the train back to Madrid, they encountered some of my favorites from Hospital Central (it’s Alicia!!!!) who were also at the festival. Elia Galera and Adriana Torrebejano… my favorite fake Spanish TV gays with swag.

Re-watching this storyline, a few things delight me even more:
1. Cristina was smitten (yeah, I said smitten) with Isabel for the moment they first laid eyes on each other. She was intrigued by the girl who made lusty eyes at her while she was taking a bath. Let’s be real.. she should have been creep-ed out by the invasion of privacy, but she wasn’t.

2. I love that the first time they actually touch Isabel pulls her hand away like she has just touched fire. Also, the whole imagery of “forbidden fruit” symbolism between them makes me giggle.

3. Once Cristina establishes her plan to seduce Isabel as part of a revenge plot, her opening seduction technique involves leaning up against a wall and waiting for Isabel to come talk to her. The look on her face when Isabel is having none of it, part annoyance, part “okay, plan B time”, is priceless. Also, “plan B” is taking forward to a new level of forwardness. I applaud Cristina for making a “let’s have gay sex” request the definition of sweet and adorable.

4. Basically the entire Cristina/Isabel romance is loaded, longing looks and I love it.

Cristina: So you’re saying that you think of me?

Remember when I said a while ago that this romance works despite the fact that the writers kind of forgot to write an actual romance and it was all due to Adriana and Berta selling every single interaction they had on screen together thereby making us forget that these two haven’t even had an actual conversation yet (beyond the general soap conversation, I mean). Moments like this are exactly what I meant. I love how Cristina is trying to be tender and touchy with Isabel here and Isabel is not having it … or at the very least, trying to not have it. Cristina will take any kind of contact she can get away with, a touch of the hand, a touch of the cheek, a touch of her hair, all the while delivering the most cheese laced dialogue, but still managing to make it work. The one thing I noticed upon this re-watch was how Cristina stares at Isabel as she walks away and proceeds to do a “so in love with you it physically pains me to look at you, but I am so happy I can explode and melt into a puddle at the same time” sigh. Which begs the question … is Isabel that awesome in bed? Answer. Yes!

Her eyes make me want to weep.

I think she says this … her accent is adorable, but it is so hard to understand sometimes. My delicate Spanglish ears cannot understand! Southern Spain accent!
